Solidarity Action with USW : Houston

December 6, 2021 @ 7:30 am 10:30 am

Graphic with text promoting Solidarity Action for United Steelworkers- USW - Unity and Strength for Workers. Support Members of USW Local 13-243 Locked-Out by ExxonMobil in Beaumont. About 650 USW Oilworkers have been locked-out by ExxonMobil since May 1, 2021, and the USW has filed unfair labor practice charges over the company's illegal behavior. The company has instigated a bogus decertification effort and continues its drive to force unfair concessions on workers who have earned and deserve a fair contract. ExxonMobil Chairman and CEO Darren Woods is speaking at the 2021 World Petroleum Congress, and now is the time to show the company we are united. Join us to demand that management ends the lockout, returns our brothers and sisters to their rightful jobs and bargains in good faith. Solidarity Action at the World Petroleum Congress: George R. Brown Convention Center, Houston, Texas (Avenida de las Americas), December 6, 2021 at 7:30 am. For more info, contact USW District 13 at (832) 556-0370.

We stand in solidarity with United Steelworkers Local 13-243 in Beaumont. They have been locked out by Exxon in a labor dispute which has attracted national attention thanks to Exxon’s aggressive union-busting. Houston DSA Membership has overwhelmingly approved a resolution in support of these locked-out workers.

There is an upcoming solidarity event on 06th December at World Petroleum Congress: George R. Brown Convention Center.  The plan is to meet at Avenida de las Americas (Discovery Green) at 7:30am

If you are able to come, please – CLICK HERE – to sign up and we will add you to our comms!

We anticipate the action lasting a few hours, but we hope you can join with us and other organizations in solidarity with USW 13-243.
