Red Square: What It Means To Be A Marxist

October 2, 2024 @ 7:00 pm 8:30 pm

What is a Marxist? Why do people still cite and discuss Marx in 2024? Are his ideas and methods still relevant to us today? Join Houston DSA as we discuss these and other questions in the glorious return of our Red Square series. These events are meant to be accessible and open to everyone. You don’t need prior knowledge or understanding to participate.  For this session, we’ll use Ramsin Canon’s brief, yet deeply rich, essay, What It Means to Be a Marxist as the prompt for a grounding in basic Marxist concepts that we hope you’ll find intriguing, thought-provoking and helpful.

Although not required, we highly encourage you to read the text beforehand by clicking on the title link above.

Please bring a charged, wifi capable device that you feel comfortable reading on.

This event is hybrid, in-person and online via Zoom. If you would like to attend virtually via Zoom, a link to the meeting registration, as well as the in-person location details, will be provided on the RSVP confirmation page.
