Pride began as a protest, starting with the Stonewall Uprising on June 28th, 1969, when the queer community of the moment said ‘No more’ to being erased, ostracized, and marginalized. Government sponsored persecution, erasure, and rights being denied is a continued factor of our existence. Come join us in denouncing the commercialization of Pride – and show the powers that be that while they might try, they cannot erase us. Put the Protest back in Pride.
