How Socialists Win: Session 1
August 1 @ 2:00 pm – 3:30 pm
Join us for part one of Houston DSA’s “How Socialists Win” series. These sessions will explore different aspects of successful organizing campaigns, from electoral work to immigrant defense and beyond.
Session 1 will focus on responses to state repression. We will be discussing two short articles – one on community organizing against the “Cop City” police training facility in Atlanta, along with a piece by a DSA member on the Delaney Hall inmate hunger strike and the activists who supported it from the outside – as well as a podcast episode on the extensive cross-movement organizing that culminated in the January general strike against ICE’s occupation of Minneapolis. We’ll be releasing audio recordings of the articles soon for those who prefer to listen, and there’s a text version of the Dig episode available upon request.
