Mauro is a high school senior who should be preparing to graduate. Instead, he and his father have been detained by ICE for more than 40 days. On December 16, they were taken into custody despite having no criminal records and fully complying with all required check-ins and legal processes. They were separated from their family just before the holidays.

Mauro is the captain of his varsity soccer team and a volunteer soccer coach. He is known by teachers and mentors as a hardworking, respectful young man who loves his school and community.
