Dia De Los Muertos 2025
November 1, 2025 @ 4:00 pm – 8:30 pm

Please join Houston DSA, CRECEN, and Madres del Parque for an event to honor and celebrate those that have lost their lives in the struggle for a better world, including day laborers and Palestinian martyrs.
Día De Muertos is a holiday deeply rooted in Mexican indigenous practices, dedicated to celebrating those who have passed away. Each year, we continue this practice by building altars with photographs of our loved ones. In ceremonies attendees say “presente” or “present” to honor that these individuals are still with us, in our actions and our collective spirit.
For this year’s Día De Muertos we invite you to join the ceremony to celebrate our loved ones and demand accountability from those in power.Your Día De Muertos post can highlight a ceremony you put together with your community or a small altar celebrating or highlighting an individual whose life was lost because the state does not prioritize their well-being or actively harmed them. You can also remember an organizer or community leader who stood for the dignity of all people.
Until our state prioritizes healthcare for all, gun safety, safe labor conditions, welcoming borders, and the well-being of our LGBTQIA+ community – among many other issues – so many lives will be added to our altars each year.
