For months the Houston Leads Coalition and the Houston DSA Immigrant Justice Campaign have been raising awareness of HPD collaboration with ICE and building support for ending this policy. On Tuesday August 26 we are mobilizing to Houston City Council to speak out and demand City Council end the policy of HPD calling ICE over matches with ICE detainers on the NCIC database, resulting in numerous documented cases of HPD calling ICE to deport people reporting crime and people who are victims of crime.

People planning to attend and testify are strongly encouraged to attend the Testimony Training we are hosting on August 21.

To testify to speak at City Council, you must register in advance, by 3pm on Monday the 25th. Information on registration will be sent after RSVP, and must be completed in order to get a spot to speak at City Council.
