Join us as we consider the year that was 2021, including our work with the Houston Abolitionist Collective, in distributing a zine and organizing a Defund pressure campaign on the City Houston via a policing budget survey and public comment at City Council meetings.

We also co-hosted an action at DA Kim Ogg’s birthday fundraiser to protest the conditions and deaths in Harris County Jail and are working with our coalition partners to build our organizing power.

We also continue our Neighbors Against Spying campaign to pressure HPD to cancel its surveillance partnership with Amazon Ring- allowing police to access residents’ Ring Doorbell Cameras, and look to stop their adoption of ShotSpotter gun detection technology in black and brown neighborhoods.

We are also preparing Digital Security Training, modeled after one given for our chapter members, to be shared with the community!
